You've gotta be kidding - only 2 sunny days?

I don't know how the weather has been where your home is, but we have been experiencing a rainy season, of sorts. The other night I heard that in September we had 3 days of sun, and in October so far, we had had only one day of sun. Much to my surprise, I woke up Sunday morning to an awful bright light in my bedroom. I almost thought I needed to scurry through the house, shaking everyone awake, so we could form a plan to rid Northwest Arkansas of this awful thing they call "the sun"! Okay, alright, maybe I'm taking it a bit too far, but I think not.

Once my body had adjusted to this sunshine, I had to hurriedly get ready to drive Mom S. to Stake Conference in Springdale. I planned to meet Cristyane and Trinity at Cracker Barrell for breakfast, to catch up on our week, as I waited the two hours until it was time to take Mom back home. Karl already had made plans to search for the source of a water leak in the ceiling of the "sewing room" at Mom's house, and go on the roof to cover the whirly-birds. I was able to get mom home, and go for a drive with Cris to see property that she and Don have been looking at, in Madison County, near Huntsville. Now this area is by far one of the prettiest areas in NW Arkansas, as is the hilltop property they are looking at.

I had this realization, though, during the drives, and on the hilltop, that during the flood (the before mentioned rainy period) our trees had changed colors, and looked like the pallet of a masterful artist, with the green, yellow, orange and red hues displayed. It is magnificent!!!! At least the rain has enabled nature to take its full course, and present a display that can only come from the divine. What more could we ask for? Maybe to have it stay around for awhile? To have weather suitable for going to our favorite haunts to see the fall changes that are to be seen there?

Two days. TWO additional days is all we've had, for overnight tonight we are to have severe storms. Again. And the ark will feel as if it's floating again. For sure, and for certain, it feels like it. But who are we to gripe? Or complain? Shouldn't we be filled, instead with thanksgiving for the beautiful nature we have seen? As we head into this new storm, I'm still working on that . . . the obvious attitude change that I should have. :0)

Yes. . . they were a total of three gorgeous days of Fall, they were.
