Fall is in the air

It's hard to believe that the air is getting cooler, and our highs are in the 70's and 80's this week.  Every year I think I am going to be able to exercise and swim in the pool through the month of September, but every year once school starts I usually get two good weeks in the pool.  But I'm blessed for that.

The plants that have survived the terrible heat and drought of the summer are getting green with regrowth, and give the hope of beautiful plants this Fall!

So, I thought I would be able to work . . . and worked for my Dr. K. doing marketing and started getting into the insurance part of the business and just totally stressed out.  Well, I guess not having access to my own car kind might of had something to do with the stress.  If I needed to go in for networking events (which at a minimum was twice a week) I would have to go in with Cristyane when she would go in for school, and basically have to stay in town all day to save gas.  That meant either doing errands, or going somewhere that had wifii and get some work done.  But still, I couldn't throw a load of laundry in while I was working, and get dinner going, or whatever.  And before I knew it I was absolutely overwhelmed . . . so I quit.

So looking for something else to do, something that would help get some of the clutter out of this house, I listed a bunch of books that are around on Amazon.com.  I have had two orders already, and I just finished putting them in in the wee hours of this morning!  Way, cool.

Cris came home with her schedule for her last trimester of Massage Therapy school . . . it's going to be busy, and she's still trying to figure it all out.  But December can't come soon enough for her!   I'm so proud of her, and the grades she has been getting.  She will begin internships in October and is looking forward to working with cancer patients at an Oncology Clinic, and doing massages at a fitness center, as well.  She is looking forward to meeting with the person who helps with their job placements . . . this trimester will be one of looking forward to using the skills she has learned.

Matt is in school, and taking two college courses through our local community college.  It is his Senior Year, one that he is looking forward to enjoying to the fullest!  I think it is so funny, he has two choir classes, two band classes, too.  Hmmmm, I wonder where his interests lay!  The marching band had their premiere last night, and they are doing their version of "Phantom of the Opera".    What I've heard is REALLY good!  He is also involved in ACE (academic challenge in education - or something like that).  This will be his third year in ACE, and he is quite well-schooled in the process of it all now.

Karl has been working hard at work, and repairing our back deck.  I haven't been out there but once or twice all summer, because it always felt as if it could give way . . . and I'm not the tiniest . . . so it worried me.
Anywho, he has been busy working on that this week, and perhaps tomorrow as well.

Our weekends seem to be made up of going to church.  If we get credit for that in heaven, we will have double the credits!  We usually go to my church (Springtown SDA Church) on Saturday, and to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Sunday for Karl and Mom.  We study the lessons for both Sabbath- and Sunday Schools.  And I'm exhausted by the end of the weekend.  But for 12 years Karl has attended my church with me, so it's the least I can do, to support him.  I may not be able to do that once Cris starts back to school in October, though, because she has clinicals on Sunday afternoons, and right now we are on the 1-4pm schedule at the LDS church.

It's late . . . and I must close.  I'll try to write here more often.  :0)

  1. well hello again Carol! I am so glad I checked my blog feed today...I rarely do and only haphazardly check up on the latest postings of everybody. So glad the deck is fixed and everyone is lucky it didn't give out, seeing what dad found under there by way of construction (or lack of). I am excited for all your graduates you have in the house too! Senior year is awesome!
