My pool exercise buddy

As some of you know, I have grown to love my pool exercise, which I do 5 days a week or more, weather permitting, in the summer. In the other three seasons I still do my pool exercise, and aim for 5 days a week, but it is in a nice warm pool in town. Until just a few weeks ago, I never realized how "lonely" I was in the pool, doing my exercise all by myself, as opposed to having other exercisers in the pool to chit-chat with while we are all getting our exercise in, or to having Trinity in the pool with me while I exercise. When Trinity would be over and we'd go to the pool, the first few times I just played with her, and neglected my exercises. After not too long, though, I told her I had to do my exercises first before we play . . . and that she can swim around and play for a little while without me. After she would play for awhile she would look and see I was still exercising and counting . . . so she would help me count, thinking it would get me done sooner, I'm sure. There is nothing like a joyful face beaming across the pool, counting with me, that has warmed my heart so much. Her assistance began to be more engaging, when she would hold onto the arm or leg that I would be exercising, thus adding more weight for my strengthening exercises! Much to her chagrin, though, I had to tell her that the weight of the water was all I can use right now. I did do what I could to get her ready to go into 1st grade by increasing my reps gradually over the summer, however!

She's my pool buddy!! And here she is - telling you how very much she loves swimming! (and being at Grammy and Grandpa's house!)
