Rainy Days

Update on dad:  he went to the doctor today for his second post-op visit, and his doctor was quite impressed with how well dad is doing.  Dad is able to walk with only his cane now . . . though we have to remind him to stand up straight.  For many months now he has been bending over and walking, not realizing the lumbar stenosis that was forming . . .  he thought it was normal to have back pain.  It wasn't until the pain down both legs that became unbearable and made his legs so weak, that he seriously discussed surgery with his doctor.

Anywho, we had a rainy day here today, and we all had moods to go with that!  Jon/Stephanie and I all slept in quite late . . . mom went to bible study at church, and dad enjoyed some quite time to read.   Mom and I went grocery shopping . . . and came back to get dad and go to his appointment.  After that, besides making and eating dinner, we were all  couch potatoes.  I didn't realize it until I was talking to Karl on the phone tonight when I told him, in reverse order, what we had watched on TV:  County Music awards, Washington Capitals' hockey game (go CAPS!  We beat the NY Islanders), Jeperdy (sp?) Wheel of Fortune, "Along Came Polly".  Hmmmm . . . haven't watched that much TV in quite awhile.  Then after mom and dad went to bed after 11:00, Jon, Stephanie and I watched Family Guy's Star Wars Movie.  Very funny, even though I've never seen Family Guy before.  So here I am at 12:45 am . . . and must get to bed.

Every day with Jonathan is a gift.  It is now 5 weeks until he may "go away".  It makes me sad . . . but I'm giving him lovin and hoping my presence helps during this emotional and depressing time.  Please keep Jon in your prayers!!

Tomorrow will be yet another rainy day.  There is still beautiful color on the trees here, for Fall has lingered.  In the two weeks + that I have been here, it has been an incredible feast for my eyes.  God is so good . . . he intertwines the good with the not-so-good.  But He certainly is good . . . all the time!
