Before Thanksgiving was even here I began seeing Christmas lights on some houses . . . which has inspired me to get ready for Christmas. Yesterday I spent the day doing some fall cleaning in the living room, and moving furniture around in order to accommodate a christmas tree. We tossed the old one out last year, so it was time for a new one (YES, I use a fake one . . . at this point in our lives it is just easier, okay??!?). Our new tree was purchased this past weekend. Last evening Karl got it put together . . . and we both worked on fixing the branches, so they would look luscious and full . . . and Matt pulled christmas boxes out of storage in his closet, and brought them out. Darn, the main tree ornaments must be in Mom S's barn. We put on Faith Hill's Christmas Special on GAC, and enjoyed the lights and music as we worked on the tree, then just sat and looked at it with only the lights on it. We are getting in the mood for Christmas. I have looked at the different websites of christmas events we like to attend . . . and the schedule is getting full! There is a piano holiday concert Friday night 12/4, A Night of Miracles holiday presentation Saturday night 12/5, Matt's holiday choir concert 12/10, Matt's band holiday concert 12/13, Chris Tomlin/Louie Guglio Glory in the Highest tour 12/18, John Brown University Candlelight Concert 12/17, "He must of been a beautiful baby" Breakfast and Christmas program at our church, Springtown SDA Church, on Dec. 19th and the December family birthdays we have: Ben, Brooke, and Nicole.

Where did November go????
So, here we are, it's December 2nd, and I'm still wondering where the heck November went! :0) Well, ok, so I was in DC until November 13th . . . that took care of 1/2 the month. After I got back we celebrated Karl's birthday . . . Matt was working on feeling better, after missing about 7 more days from school with the flu . . . and has continued to work on make-up homework every since . . . November is a big one for family birthdays: Blake's, Don's Mine, Olivia's, and Karl's. Cris & Family purchased their property in Madison County (on top of the Mtn. Big Sandy), and have begun getting the property ready for move-in. We had Thanksgiving dinner at our house with Mom Smith and Cris, Don and Trinity. Karl and I had a date and went to see the movie Blindside, after which we ate some yummy mexican food . . . and the rest is a blur!!!

This month is going to go by way too fast. But during it all we hope to keep our focus Christ, the real reason we celebrate. And have the hustle and bustle of this month. The only gift Christmas is truly about is our Lord and Savior.
