Calgon take me away . . .

Years ago, when I was a young mother and working full time, there was a Calcon commercial that I found I related to very well.  The picture was of a woman soaking in what appeared to be a luxurious bubble-filled bathtub . . . and then it shows her hectic, event-filled day prior to the bath . . . where she states (with a bit of a whine in her voice) "Calgon, take me away . . . "!

So -  fast forward to today . . . and I am SO feeling that way!  The past few months have been non-stop for me, and I am just waiting for a long-awaited day's end luxurious bath!  Hmmm, perhaps on Monday?

This week is Trinity's Spring Break, and I had hoped to have her with me . . . and I got my wish!  Nana and Papa Potter decided it would be the perfect time to come and visit, and get their "fix" of special time with Trinity (and our family as well :0).

Of course, it had been just one week and one day since I had arrived home from a week in Maryland.  And I've had 5 out of 5 days the week in between with calendar items up the wazoo.

I always know to plan a week to crash after a visit back home, with a mix of emotions and pain for the busy rat-race I had back in Maryland..  But this time there was no time for a crash in sight.

So Nana, Papa arrived Saturday night, braving the rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow (can we say blizzard???) their last 3 hours of the drive.  Their trip ended with a VERY stressful slide down our driveway, into our grass, and their car had to of been stopped by their guardian angels, for they were at the edge of the embankment behind our house.  (God is good - all the time!)  Needless to say, that had them shook up for their first few days here.  Sunday Trinity arrived . . . and we've had quite the busy week!  Amidst the rain, then occasional sunny day, we have done a lot of running around - almost as bad as we do when I'm back in Maryland!!

My dad's back is extremely painful, and they have yet to find what to do for it.  The specialist tells him to take Ibuprofen for it.  He had surgery in October for Sciatica, and the symptoms have re-emerged.  He has little energy, and tires quickly.  I feel so sad when I see him shuffling around.  He is going downhill quickly, and I treasure every moment I have with him!

Mom's health is good - she gets around very well.  Trinity was attached to her hip most of the week!  Nana provides love, kindness and stability to Trinity.  She remembers spending time with them for most of the first 5 years of her life.  We have, however, had some stressful moments this visit with mom, and my hope is that she knows how much we love her, and that she will be able to realize that we have Trinity's best interest at eart.

The fact that Karl left the Thursday after their arrival and won't be back until after mom and dad leave Sunday hasn't helped ME any.  He's my closest friend and confidante, de-stressor and sounding board, and I sure do miss cuddling up close at bedtime!!

It has been nice, though, to have breakfast with Mom, Dad and Trinity (who loves to pray every chance she can), then devotionals.  I don't get up early enough in the mornings to have anyone but Oreo to do devotions with.  And on the day it's his turn to read, I have a devil of a time understanding!  lol . . . sorry, just had to lighten this up.

Anyway, Sunday company leaves and husband comes home and Carol with crash for AT LEAST a week.  And all will be right with the universe once again.  :0)
